Jason D. Cayne

Jason D. Cayne of Morganville, N.J. was a municipal bond broker and partner at Cantor Fitzgerald working in the World Trade Center, Tower 1, 104th floor on September 11, 2001.  His friends remember him as optimistic and physically fit.  His mother noted shortly after the attacks that "No matter what the circumstances were, Jason would try to find something to laugh and smile about."

"We’d be out literally every weekend," his wife said. "We’d meet at my mother’s house. We’d fight about who would be designated drivers. And then we’d party."

Cayne left behind a wife and three young daughters.  He is but one of 2,996 individuals taken away from us that day. Never forget.

Update (9:20 A.M.): The 2,996 Project’s website is down, probably due to bandwidth limitations.  The least their hosting company could do would be to keep the site up for the sake of the memorial, but they’re apparently either too cheap or too inattentive.  To think I paid for a year of hosting with these guys disgusts me.  Their contact email is info@ehostpros.com.

Update (9/12): The project website is back.  Click the banner above.

  1. I know I am late, but this is Great. I hope ten or fifteen years from now, we all will remember not only the event, but names and faces. They were all important.
